Design/Build

In a design-build project delivery method, the general contractor is responsible for both the design and construction stages of the project. Partnerships with architects and engineers are established with the general contractor to provide a cohesive team for the owner. To minimize project risk, control project cost, and reduce the delivery schedule, the general contractor, design team, and the owner work together in the early phases of the design process. The design-build process allows the project to be owner-driven as the construction program maximizes the owner's value at the completion of the project.

Negotiated Work

Negotiated contracts allow the owner and the general contractor to maximize savings and control costs. When the owner has already chosen an architect, and the construction plans have been finalized, it is time to partner with a general contractor. This may be done by a negotiated contract. All finalized plans are then released to the subcontractors and suppliers for pricing. The general contractor’s responsibility is to manage the schedule and stay within the budget.

Hurricanes

As we all know, hurricanes are one of the worst natural catastrophes that can occur. The mass devastation that is caused by hurricanes always creates turmoil and anxiety that is difficult to express unless you have firsthand experience. Emergency response companies at times will scramble to get a team of personnel to the location to handle the high volume of claims. Unfortunately, due to the massive destruction and high demands, there are many inexperienced personnel working these types of storms and many are hired only days after the storm.

Mold Damage

Mold is a major problem that is prevalent throughout Florida. It spreads if left unattended and it causes health problems. If you suspect that you have a mold problem, get in touch with us immediately and we will send out one of our experienced inspectors to evaluate the situation.

Water Damage

KbH Construction Group has successfully completed several water damage projects.

Our Expertise in Remediation Efforts

In one case, the owner had a 2” water main burst in an assisted living facility on a Friday night. The water flooded an entire wing of the facility, disrupting their operation and upsetting the residents. KBH Consulting Inc. was notified and moved quickly to evaluate the damage, call out our industrial hygienist to provide the necessary ICRA report for the repairs, and set up drying equipment. After this, we started the remediation efforts.

Do you know what it takes to get your property back to the pre-loss condition after suffering a water loss? Did the water wick up your walls? That’s right. It can and does soak up into your drywall, which can eventually lead to mold growth. With a rapid response, the damage to the structure can be greatly reduced as well as the cost. It is important that the drying out of the structure can be started within hours of the water coming into contact with the drywall.

The bottom line is, after the water damage is done, property owners often face enormous repair bills and enormous obstacles that can lead to an even larger loss. You don’t have to face your problem alone. KbH Construction Group can be there for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We have negotiated savings of over $ 175,000.00 on one project alone in the Gainesville Florida area. Sinkhole losses have been getting a lot of press lately as there has been more and more sinkhole activity throughout Florida. Most people have seen photos of houses being swallowed up by the earth that are catastrophic ground collapse sinkholes, but by no means are the most common sinkhole problems.

Many sinkholes occur beneath the earth and therefore make it impossible to see them. You may start noticing several cracks in your stucco, doors not closing properly among many other things, and these may be simple settlement issues or they may be signs of possible sinkhole activity.
